Descendant of a family that works the vineyard since 1640, Claire Clavel Woman Winemaker strives every day to continue the story of several generations. Supported by her father Denis and by her team of men and women who are the wealth of the business, Claire leads the 80 hectares always looking for more character, authenticity and conviviality.
The vineyard covers 5 municipalities : St Gervais, St Michel d'Euzet, Carsan, Bagnols sur Cèze and St Nazaire and over a hundred parcels. This diversity is a major asset because it enables working on different terroirs and getting different wine characters. Sheltered and protected, St. Gervais is an area of sandy soil, sometimes limestone, where the wines express lightness, with a desire of bringing a smooth feeling.
Engaged in sustainable viticulture, the Domaine Clavel works the vines respecting environment. In line with this philosophy Domaine Clavel joined Terra Vitis in 2010 to guarantees its client transparency, traceability and quality and also certified High Environmental Value.
This inky deep ruby red wine is a blend of Syrah and Grenache Noir from Languedoc (France) and is a must for any red wine lover. Its rich aromas of blackberries, violets, and herbs on the nose are complemented by highly concentrated fruit and fine silky tannins on the palate. La Mejanelle Copa Santa by Domaine Clavel is a perfect pairing match for rich meat and fish dishes such as cassoulet, leg of lamb, or a swordfish provençal.
